This radio came my way by swapping it for one of my Bush TR130 radios with a good friend of mine Bill Morris from Indianapolis, who I have been corresponding with for a while by email. Bill was the inspiration behind the Batteries section of this website providing me with a lot of scans of period battery covers from the USA. Bill is a dab hand at putting together and constructing facsimiles of batteries long out of production for his period radios. What could be better than a period battery inside a nice period radio?

This is a really nice radio with a very chunky look to it. The case is high quality leather, the radio itself looking remarkably well preserved. It needs part of the battery box reconstructing, luckily its only the piece that holds the battery contacts apart at one end. This radio is interesting in that it can be used as a direction finder. If you know where a number of transmitters are located, finding the bearing of each one will enable one to pinpoint ones position.
