This was the second addition to my collection bought on the same day as the first Bush TR130 at the same car boot sale but this time it cost me all of £1. This one was minus it's handle and was caked on grease and grime. However, as Grundig used such high quality materials in their radios it cleaned up really well and also worked when powered up, all except the VHF band. Looking inside the problem was found to be a broken PCB track that delivered power to the VHF front-end which fracture due to movement of the front-end. The track was repaired with a piece of solid copper wire soldered along the length of the track. this got it working for a while but eventually it stopped again. The repair itself had broken. This seems to be due to the way the VHF front-end is resiliently mounted allowing movement. Age doesn't of course help with the flexible mountings deteriorating as it got older.
