I've seen a few different GEC radios with the name "Starfinder" so I presume a whole range was available during the 70's. The radio proclaims the use of an Integrated Circuit which must have been the latest "new" development in radio technology at the time. 1970's marketing strategy was to shout about what was new about your product to differentiate it from competitor products. 1990's marketing strategy is to shout about anything at all which results in such stupid claims as "No artificial colourings" on clear lemonade and "No added sugars" on bottles of Pineapple juice.
