Sunday 9th May 1999 I went to the National Vintage Communications Fair (NVCF) at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham. I had hoped to find another NordMende Globetrotter or something of the same quality but was surprised at the lack of quality radios. This is probably because traders get in at 7am, early bird tickets are 15 ukp and get in at 8am and Joe Public i.e. me, gets in at 10.30am for 5 ukp (and don't forget the 4 ukp to park your car). The result? all the good stuff has already gone by the time I got in. I got this Dynatron as a sort of consolation prize and because I didn't have one in my collection. Sounds good, looks ok but centre 2 knobs wrong. Also the white paint on the dial is flaking.
