Another famous Bush model. I have 3 of these, the first of which started me off collecting portable radios when I bought it at a car-boot sale for 50p. It had been in a garage for many years, was covered in grime and paint spots, held together by blue insulation tape and the bottom kept falling off. I got it home, put a battery in and it worked! So I completely dismantled it, cleaned it up, scrubbed the case (very durable) polished the chrome, the plastic dial and fixed the bottom and it looked almost new (see picture above). The second was in very good condition so I paid £10 for it. When I got it home it didn't work despite the previous owners promise that it did. The moral is to always carry a battery when you go to buy an old transistor radio. The third is in almost mint condition but is later because it has Radio 1, Radio 2 etc. on the dial rather than Light, Home etc. Probably 1969. I've seen them in red and black and blue, the BS (Band Spread) dial can have different stations (one has Caroline, one doesn't, some have 208 where BS should be). A fourth one has been added to the collection, also in the same Tan colour. One day I'll find one of the other colours.
